[SWTV News]. Cheongju, Chungcheongbuk-do, launches large-scale 'city promotion campaign' using aircraft
Cheongju City, Chungcheongbuk-do, announced on January 2 that it will launch a "city promotion campaign" to inform domestic and foreign travelers of Cheongju's major tourist destinations using aircraft advertisements (New Airline Media) through January next year.
To this end, Cheongju City will introduce Cheongju's representative tourist attractions through tray table media ads on Jeju Air's aircraft.
Traytable media is the longest-viewed area of the cabin, and passengers spend most of their flight looking at the traytable, whether they're eating, reading, or using mobile, making it the highest-performing in-flight ad format for reach, engagement, and conversion.
The Cheongju campaign will feature Cheongju's core tourist destinations, including Chopjeongji-yu Village, Cheongnam University, and Jeongbukdong Tomb, each individually designed. In particular, the 3-3 seating arrangement is utilized so that passengers in the left and right rows face different tourist destinations, allowing passengers to naturally experience the diverse scenery of Cheongju repeatedly during the flight.
In addition, a QR-based instant information connection structure has been introduced, enabling real-time navigation to detailed tourist information, event pages, and recommended travel courses. This enables performance-based city marketing that goes beyond simple visual exposure to online conversion, and aims to spread the image of Cheongju as a tourist city not only to airplane passengers but also to non-passengers through media exposure.
"In-flight traytables are the media that passengers interact with for the longest period of time during a flight, and they can drive strong concentration and natural emotional engagement," said a representative from media operator EMCG. "By exposing Cheongju's tourism resources at a moment of excitement for travelers, we expect the brand and city content to be deeply embedded."
Meanwhile, EMCG is the only aircraft media platform company in Korea with a full range of aircraft advertising, including in-flight tray tables, sidewall panels, window media, and aircraft exterior wraps, and continues to expand its aircraft-based tourism marketing to local governments, global brands, and public institutions.
